What's new in version 2.5

The latest version of Tricount is now available on Google Play and the App Store! Let’s check who might enjoy the brand-new functionalities the most.

Simplified synchronization: for the daydreamer user

It’s well known that some of us aren’t the best at remembering birthdays, faces, passwords… and the manual synchronization in Tricount is also part of that (*).

The good news is that the Tricount’s synchronization mechanism (“pull to refresh”) is on its way to become automatic. Starting from 2.5, the sync will be done on your behalf when you access a tricount; meaning that your friends won’t have to wonder anymore and ask why the list of expenses is sometimes empty… 😃

How does it work? Nothing to worry about, Tricount does the job for you!

(*) Synchronizations are necessary to keep your expenses updated with our servers and with your friends

Bancontact: for the curious Belgian user

The integration with the Bancontact app is so efficient, that even the laziest of you won’t resist downloading Bancontact (*) to initiate a reimbursement within that app 😃.

How does it work?

  • Click on “Pay with Bancontact”
  • Ask the one who owes you money to scan the QR-code

(*) The hardest thing you must do is downloading Bancontact. Get over it!

Share at creation: for the ones who are looking for efficiency

It is a smart move to share a tricount just after its creation. Indeed, it’s actually the only way to get rid of the responsibility of being the only one in charge of editing the expenses.

Considering that, this new release will please you: now, Tricount enables you to pick the participants from your contact list and add them into a tricount. Stop sending an e-mail or a WhatsApp to share a link. Tricount does the job for you!

How does it work? Follow those 2 easy steps:

  • When adding a participant, it is possible to select him from your contacts
  • If an e-mail or a mobile telephone number is attached to the picked-up contact, she or he will receive the link of the tricount via e-mail or SMS.

Default distribution: for the meticulous ones

You have probably been dreaming about it: being able to remember the distribution of an expense, so that there is no further need to write it again in your future expenses.

In the version 2.5, you don’t have to re-encode that you are with Julie (2 parts) and that Arnaud is single (1 parts) at every expense… it is possible to use the distribution of one expense as default (*)

How does it work? In 3 steps:

  • Create an expense with a recurring distribution
  • Click on “Save as default”
  • When the next expense is created, the app will display the same distribution

(*) this functionality is a feature of our “Friend Pack”
